21 day campaign to track and treat TB patients in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: TB patients will be searched by running a special campaign from May 15 to 21 working days at the Health and Wellness Center. This campaign will be run from the wellness center where more TB patients or Covid patients have been identified in the last two years.
The director of the Uttar Pradesh National Health Mission has given necessary instructions by issuing a letter to the concerned officials.
ASHA worker and ANM will also cooperate
District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. R.V.Singh told the media that an important role is expected in the identification, examination, treatment, transfer of amount directly to the bank, providing counseling and psycho-social support at the Health and Wellness Center for Tuberculosis patients. The role of Community Health Officer (CHO) is important in this campaign. Cooperation of ASHA workers and ANMs will be taken in the campaign.
Necessary instructions to the officers
He said that this campaign will run in those areas which are away from the Health and Wellness Center and where more TB patients and Covid patients have been identified in the last two years. Three camps will be organized every week at each health and wellness center.
Officers will go door to door
Before the camp, ASHA workers and ANMs would go door-to-door in their area to identify people with symptoms of tuberculosis. ASHA workers and ANMs will bring the identified persons to the camp on the day of the camp, where their sputum will be collected and sent for testing. If the test comes positive, the treatment will be started immediately after notifying the patient.
TB has to be eradicated from the root
Dr. RV Singh said the Prime Minister has set the target of eradicating TB from the country by the year 2025. The Government of Uttar Pradesh is determined to achieve this target in time. In this sequence, this campaign will be started.
