29 TRAIN OPERATORS OF DEUTSCHE BAHN INDIA (DB-INDIA) ARE GOING TO GIVE SPEED TO THE INDIA’S FIRST REGIONAL RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM (RRTS).

Deutsche Bahn India (DB-India) 147 employees from the Operations and Maintenance department have completed their training at the UPMRCL’s Depot which is situated at the Transport Nagar, Lucknow. Out of these 147 employees, 29 are the Train Operators who are going to give the speed to India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). Deutsche Bahn AG, National Railway Company of Germany was engaged to operate RRTS in the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor. The first training that was provided to staff members other than UPMRC was for DB employees at the UPMRCL’s Transport Nagar depot.

A multi model training program starts with the foundation course, after which one has to impart training on job-specific technical modules like traction, security system, maintenance philosophy, train signalling system, track engineering, station management, and rolling stock (Metro train). This training also includes working of Operational Control Centre (OCC), telecom, AFC and CCTV system, Environment Control System (ECS), Tunnel Ventilation System (TVS), etc. Trainees are also provided hands-on practical training on ‘Train Simulators’ to gain an actual feel of driving a Metro train.

Shri. Kumar Keshav who was previously serving as the Managing Director of the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, was now heading the Deutsche Bahn India (DB-India) as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
