93 hospitals in Uttar Pradesh get the NQAS certificate

Lucknow: 93 hospitals in Uttar Pradesh have been awarded the National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certificate. Of these, 46 are district hospitals, and this number is the highest among all states.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, who holds the health portfolio, said health services in Uttar Pradesh have improved and the NQAS certification of 93 government health facilities, including 46 district-level hospitals, proves this.

It is the result of the collective effort of all. The NQAS has been developed keeping in mind specific requirements for public health facilities as well as global best practices.

NQAS is currently available for District Hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and Urban PHCs. It aims to improve through pre-determined standards. Pathak said, UP is the only state where 46 district hospitals have got this certificate in one go.

The hospitals to be certified include Civil Hospital in Lucknow, District Combined Hospital in Meerut and a Health and Wellness Center in Sultanpur. Altogether 22 Community Health Centers, 20 Primary Health Centers, two Urban PHCs have also got the certificates.
