Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Chapter of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an awareness campaign named “Arogya Vatika Pahal” on 18 September 2021 at PHD House, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. The campaign was supported by Superior Industries Limited and A&A Group of Companies.
The objective of the interactive campaign was to focus on the role of medicinal plants in boosting immunity and reducing air pollution in the environment. It aims to shed light on other medical health, beauty and health benefits, especially to keep these plants in our surroundings during this pandemic when strong immunity is important for human beings.
Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh elaborated the importance of nature in ancient times when there was greenery all around and planting of medicinal plants was a convention. He said that people were stronger within themselves and more resistant to diseases even in old age as compared to the current weak immunity found in the public even in the younger generation. The Minister said that in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we are moving away from nature, underlining the benefits of nature including stress relief, better short term memory, increased mental energy, less inflammation, better eyesight, better health, and more. He said that old family values and Indian culture are also linked to nature because for ancient families, greenery and clean natural healthy playground contributed to the positive development of children. He also said that it has become extremely important to save our earth and its environment as it provides us with healthy food and water to sustain life and the only way to honor our mother earth is because of the benefits we get from plantation. To raise awareness about. He urged the people of the state not to forget the traditional roots of Indian heritage and culture and encouraged them to plant more and more medicinal plants in and around their area to make the environment clean and green. Dr. Sharma appreciated PHDCCI UP Chapter for organizing such meaningful awareness session and said that it will help in creating balance in our lives and adopting eco-friendly habits so that we can make our state a better place to live in.
Dr. Dinesh Sharma along with Justice SC Verma, former Lokayukta and Justice AN Verma also planted medicinal plants in the lush green lawns of PHD House, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.
Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary General, PHD Chamber said that as we know that in the period of Corona and with increasing pollution there has been an increase in health problems. We keep on visiting doctors and hospitals for even common health problems. Many of these common health problems can be dealt with naturally.
Welcoming all the dignitaries, Yogesh Srivastava Assistant Secretary General PHD Chamber said, “I believe that the ongoing initiative of Arogya Vatika seems to be to create a Green Wonder Corner in various parks across the city to make people aware. That is how powerful plants Mother Nature provides which not only boost our immunity but can cure many diseases without going to the doctor. The initiative taken today will surely ensure the right and timely participation of the industry. Mukesh Singh, Senior Advisor, UP State Chapter, said that trees not only promote health and social well-being by removing air pollution, but also reduce stress, encourage physical activities and promote social interactions and communication.
RA Ram, Principal Scientist CISH in his address discussed the benefits of rooftop farming/horticulture. He explained that terrace gardens are man-made arrangements in which vegetables, flowers and fruits are grown on terraces, balconies or roofs of buildings. Atul Shrivastava, Resident Director PHD Chamber conducted the session excellently and proposed vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and participants present.
More than 100 participants from industry, NBT, PHDCCI members and senior industrialists, academicians, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders working in this field participated in this enlightening session.
