Lucknow: In the current financial year 2021-22, for the payment of electricity bill to be consumed on pump/lift canals, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd. Lucknow has been given advance leverage to get payment with regards to tube wells operated under Irrigation and Water Resources Department, out of Rs.3400.00 crores, Rs.250.00 crores for the first quarter.
In this regard, a mandate has been issued by the Irrigation and Water Resources Department on 17 June 2021. Out of this amount, Rs 50 crore has been approved for pump canals, Rs 20 crore for uplift irrigation schemes and Rs 250 crore for government tube wells.
It has also been said in the mandate that the Irrigation Department will verify the payment of actual bills by the Energy Department. Month wise compiled details of raised bills will be made available at the time of sending the proposal for acceptance of next installment.
Before the withdrawal of this advance amount, it will be ensured by the Chief Engineer and Head of the Department of Irrigation and Water Resources that the advances drawn earlier for this purpose have been adjusted as per rules.
In the financial year 2021-22, the information about the verification/adjustment done in respect of the payment made in advance to UP Power Corporation Ltd. will be made available to the government within 15 days.
