Lucknow: 44th National Junior Girls Handball Championship will be held from 8th to 12th September in Lucknow. After the Corona period, the first handball championship will be held in Lucknow next month. Under the aegis of UP Handball Association and Uttar Pradesh Sports Development and Promotion Committee, the matches of 44th National Junior Girls Handball Championship will be played at KD Singh Babu Stadium. This competition is hosted by Handball Federation of India in Lucknow.
In a press conference held, Executive Director of Handball Federation of India and General Secretary and Organizing Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Handball Association, Dr. Anandeshwar Pandey informed that teams from 32 states and union territories including host UP will participate in the championship.
He said that for the first time after the Corona era, a national level handball championship is being held in Lucknow. The preparations for this championship, to be held on a league cum knockout basis, are going on at a brisk pace and its matches will be played in morning and evening shifts.
Dr. Anandeshwar Pandey said that the championship would be held under strict corona protocol, in which it would be mandatory to bring both the doses of vaccination certificate or RTPCR negative report. The sponsors of the championship will be BBD Group, Babu Sundar Singh Group Institution and Iram School. In the last edition of the championship held in Kanpur in April, the team of Aryavart Sports Academy (Himachal Pradesh) was the winner and the team of Haryana was the runner-up.
On the occasion of the press conference today, Vinay Kumar Singh, Treasurer of Handball Federation of India, along with Dr. Sudhir M. Bobde, Chairman of UP Handball Association, Nishant Jaiswal, Vice President of UP Handball Association, Anand Shekhar Singh, Chairman of Babu Sundar Singh Education Society, BBD Group Se Sudharma Singh, Director of Eram School Khwaja Faizi Yunus were also present.
