Agenda in the name of entertainment is wrong – Shivpal Yadav
Lucknow: Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shivpal Yadav has said that trying to show dangerous agenda in the name of entertainment is not in the interest of the country and the society. Reacting to Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to declare controversial film ‘The Kerala Story’ tax-free, Shivpal said entertainment should be for entertainment’s sake and films and literature should not be used to impose a poisonous agenda on the country . Any art born out of hatred will be harmful for the nation and the society as well.
The UP government’s decision to declare the film tax-free came just a day after the West Bengal government banned its release.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha state general secretary Harsh Vardhan organized a free screening of the film for over 100 women in Ayodhya and uploaded pictures on his Twitter account.
Apart from Uttar Pradesh, the film has also been made tax free in Madhya Pradesh.
Senior SP leaders said: Time has come for BJP to announce zero house tax and zero road tax. At least this will give some relief to the people. Making films tax free will benefit the filmmaker more than the common man.
