Agra Metro: First metro train for Agra Metro Project unloaded at Agra Metro Depot

Agra: The first metro train was unloaded at Agra Metro Rail Depot in presence of MD UPMRC Sushil Kumar, marking a very important achievement for the team of UPMRC, Agra Metro Project.
The trains for Agra Metro are built in Savli, in Gujarat under government’s Make in India initiative and the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ mission.
Speaking on the same, MD UPMRC Sushil Kumar said, “There will be a total of 28 trains for Agra Metro and 6 trains for the priority corridor, initially.
The metro trains for Agra Metro Project carry a distinct yellow colour and they are equipped with ultra modern technology and seamless design.”
The look of metro trains for Agra Metro Rail Project was unveiled by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath on 8th August 2022.
Features of Metro Trains.
All the metro trains are equipped with regenerative breaking system, and will save upto 35 percent energy.
The trains are also fitted with carbon dioxide based sensors which saves energy. With the increasing load of passenger trains the co2 based sensors provides an ambient temperature.
The trains will be managed and operated from world class Agra Metro depot and will be operated in automated CBTC mode (Comminication Based Train Control) making the train operations absolutely safe and efficient.
Initially, upon their arrival the trains will be tested on the 1 km long test track built inside the depot for all equipments and safety features.
Agra Metro Rail Project was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 7th December 2020.
