AIIMS Raebareli’s Department of Psychiatry Shines a Spotlight on Suicide Prevention during World Suicide Prevention Week 2023
Raebareli: The Department of Psychiatry at AIIMS Raebareli organized a comprehensive Gatekeeper Training Initiative in observance of World Suicide Prevention Week. This initiative aimed to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills required to identify signs of distress and provide life-saving support.
In the presence of the esteemed Honourable Executive Director, Dr. Arvind Rajwanshi, and other distinguished faculty members, AIIMS Raebareli hosted an insightful session on suicide prevention. Dr. Arghya Pal, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, addressed the audience, emphasizing the vital role of gatekeepers in preventing suicide.Dr. Rashmi Shukla provided a visionary perspective on the mechanism of gatekeeper’s roles and delved into the modules designed to empower them.
The highlight of the program was a thought-provoking role-play that depicted real-life scenarios, showcasing the importance of gatekeepers in recognizing signs of emotional distress and effectively intervening. This engaging role-play was followed by an interactive Question and Answer session that provided attendees with an opportunity to seek clarifications and deepen their understanding.
