Lucknow: Under the Destitute Women Pension Scheme after the death of the husband, the Uttar Pradesh government is paying the pension at the rate of Rs 500 per month to the eligible beneficiaries through PFMS in four quarters.
Under this scheme run by the Women’s Welfare Department, such women above the age of 18 years, who are permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh and their husbands have died and their family annual income does not exceed Rs.2.00 lakhs, as eligible beneficiaries. being transferred to their bank account.
In the financial year 2016-17, a total of 1731941 beneficiaries were being provided pension benefits under the destitute women pension scheme after the death of their husbands. From the year 2017 to the year 2021, more than 12 lakh new beneficiaries have been added under this scheme. For effective implementation of the scheme, the maximum limit of the age of the beneficiary was abolished and the annual income of the beneficiary was fixed at Rs.2.00 lakh. Under this scheme, more than 29 lakh beneficiaries have been benefitted till the financial year 2021-22.
Under the above, in the last year, in the form of special package of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, along with regular grant to the eligible beneficiaries, additional amount of Rs.1000 in 02 installments of Rs.500 has also been provided.
