Akhilesh Yadav plans to gradually kickstart his 2024 campaign
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav will start touring Lok Sabha constituencies after the festival of Holi. The SP is planning to launch a sustained campaign against the ruling BJP government and will highlight its failures. As per reports, the BJP government’s failure to address issues related to farmers will be the focus of the campaign.
According to a party functionary, the party leadership will first reconstitute the party by reconstituting its state executive besides making new appointments in district units and frontal organisations.
On July 4 last year, a week after the party lost the Rampur and Azamgarh Lok Sabha seats to the BJP in bypolls, Akhilesh Yadav dissolved the party’s national and state executive (except for the posts of national and state presidents).
In January this year, the party began reorganizing its structure. It established a new national executive for the first time, inducting senior leaders Shivpal Singh Yadav and Swami Prasad Maurya as national general secretaries.
SP’s state spokesperson and national secretary Rajendra Chowdhary said that after Holi, the party president would start touring Lok Sabha constituencies and assembly constituencies. By that time, we expect the new organizational structure of the party to be announced.
Akhilesh will visit various assembly constituencies in a phased manner. RLD chief Jayant Chowdhary likely to join some constituencies in western UP
