All eyes on distribution of portfolios in Yogi cabinet

Lucknow: Even after three days of the formation of the Yogi cabinet, the division of portfolios among the ministers could not be done. The brainstorming is going on at the top level regarding the division of departments. There is a possibility of division of departments by Monday or Tuesday. The new minister can take over the work of the ministry in Navratri. Navratri is starting from April 2.

The 53-member cabinet was sworn in on March 25 at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana International Stadium. With the swearing-in 15 days after the election results on March 10, it was believed that the division of departments would also happen on the same day. But even after three days, the decision on this remains a matter of discussion in the political circles. Yogi Sarkar 2.0 has 18 cabinet ministers, 14 ministers of state (independent charge) and 20 ministers of state, including two deputy chief ministers.

Experts believe that there is a tussle over big sectors like home, finance, PWD, energy, water power, medical and health, medical education, industrial development and education.

According to sources, some senior cabinet ministers and ministers of state (independent charge) want important portfolios. At the same time, senior leaders of the party are in favor of allocation of portfolios keeping in mind the image of the government among the public, implementation of schemes of the central and state government, their ability to listen to the public and workers in view of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. .

Keshav, Brajesh, Swatantra Dev, Arvind and Aseem have an eye on the department

In political circles Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Cabinet Minister and BJP State President Swatantra Dev Singh, Cabinet Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma, former ADG Aseem Arun will get the command of which department, the market for discussions is hot. In these too, the round of speculation is going on regarding big departments like PWD, Energy, Jal Shakti, Urban Development.
