Lucknow: A joint meeting of the museum’s executive committee and executive committee was held today in the Pragya Room located at Raj Bhavan under the chairmanship of the Allahabad Museum Committee, Governor and President of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel. In the meeting, three proposals were presented to the Governor, in which the transfer of ‘golden stick’ displayed in the Nehru Gallery of Allahabad Museum to the National Museum, New Delhi, for promotion to the post of ‘Deputy Collector’ and Assistant Museum President’ in the museum, external experts in the Departmental Promotion Committee. And to nominate a representative of the Scheduled Castes / Tribes and the third proposal was presented for the beautification of the central-room separate from the independent gallery. The proposals were approved in the meeting with the consent of the committee.
In the meeting, the Governor suggested to preserve his photograph or 3D picture in the museum before transferring the ‘golden stick’. In the meeting, Dr. Akhilesh Kumar Singh, Member-Secretary, Vice-Chancellor and Director-in-Charge of the committee informed the Governor about the decision taken in the meeting held in July, 2022 and informed that according to the decision of the meeting, Dr. Rajendra Prasad has been appointed as Director, Allahabad Museum.
Appointment letter has been issued. They can join here till the month of November. He also informed the Governor about the approval of the independent entrance of the museum and said that for this, a request would be made to the Divisional Commissioner Prayagraj for its construction work under the Smart City Scheme in Prayagraj.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Governor Smt. Kalpana Awasthi, Officer on Special Duty, Education Shri Pankaj Jani, Member Secretary of Allahabad Museum Committee, Dr. Akhilesh Kumar Singh, members of online association Prof. Umesh Chattopadhyay, Divisional Commissioner Prayagraj, Joint Director Treasury Shri Pramod Kumar Singh and Museum’s Director and other members were present.
