Srinagar: The Amarnath Yatra has started for one sighting of Baba Barfani, located in the hills of South Kashmir. There is tremendous enthusiasm among the people in the journey which started after 2 years due to Corona epidemic. This journey will continue for 43 days.
The journey that started on June 30 will end on August 11. During this, 7-8 lakh devotees are expected to have darshan.
The first batch of pilgrims leaves for the Amarnath Yatra through the holy cave in Baltal. Many devotees have reached Pahalgam and Baltal base camp amid tight security. The first batch of pilgrims was welcomed by the local people in Pahalgam.
Travelers going to see Baba Barfani are proceeding with the chanting of ‘Bam-Bam Bhole’. State’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of Amarnath Yatris from Yatri Niwas Jammu. After a gap of two years, the Yatra has been started again, so the Jammu and Kashmir administration expects the number of devotees to be more than normal this year.
A batch of 4890 pilgrims has left for Amarnath cave from Jammu base camp. Arrangements have been made in the camp for the stay of the devotees amid heavy security arrangements. At the same time, soldiers are stationed all around to deal with any kind of situation.
