Amends to be made in Municipal Council Act before Civic Body elections

Lucknow: The Municipal Council and Municipal Council Act will be amended to make reservation of seats for the civic body elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh on the basis of triple test.  Soon preparations are being made to pass this proposal from the cabinet. With the passage of this proposal, the reservation of the seats of Mayor and Speaker will be completely changed.

Survey report will be submitted to CM Yogi soon

According to the sources, the UP State Local Bodies Dedicated Backward Classes Commission constituted on the orders of the High Court has prepared a report surveying all the districts.

This report will soon be handed over to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. On the basis of this, the share of backward classes will be decided. Before making reservation, the Urban Development Department will inform the Supreme Court about the report of the Commission. In fact, the Supreme Court had given time till March 31 to the state government.
