Kolkata: As West Bengal gears up for election season, political mercury is fast increasing, As the BJP prepares a strategy for the West Bengal elections, Chanakya of the BJP, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in West Bengal on 19 and 20 December. Shah will be part of many events and work on a broader strategy to take on the current dispensation in the state in Mamata Banerjee led TMC’s den. Amit Shah’s visit is considered important given the recent political developments in the state.
The first day will begin at the Sri Ramakrishna Mission Ashram in Kolkata at 10.45 am with a tribute to Swami Vivekananda. Later at 12.30 pm, he will pay his obeisance at the Maa Siddheswari temple in Medinipur.
He will also be offering flowers at the statue of freedom fighter Khudiram Bose. After this, he will worship at the Devi Mahamaya temple at 1.25 pm. On the same day, Amit Shah will go to Belijuri village of Medinipur and will have a meal at the family of a farmer at half past one in the afternoon.
He is also going to address a public meeting at Medinipur College ground at 2.30 pm. At 7.30 pm, he will review the election work at ‘The Westin’ Kolkata with the Union ministers of the state, organization secretaries, zonal supervisors and state BJP general secretaries.
His second day in West Bengal will see him going to Vishwa Bharati University, Shanti Niketan at 11 am on December 20. At Rabindra Bhavan he will pay homage to Guru Rabindranath Tagore.Shah will also take out time to interact with the media. After this, he will go to the Sangeet Bhavan of the university and deliver an address at the Bangladesh Bhavan auditorium here at 12 noon. From here he will leave for Birbhum. Shah is also likely to dine with the Baul singer family at Shyambati, Paruldanga in Birbhum at 12.50 pm.
At two in the afternoon, Amit Shah will do a roadshow from the Hanuman temple at Bolpur Circle to Bolpur Circle in Bolpur. He will then hold a press conference at the Mohor cottage resort at 4.45 pm. With this, the two-day Bengal tour of Amit Shah will conclude.
