Amity School of Communication organizes its 1st Annual National Conference virtually

Lucknow: Continuing its constant pursuit for excellence in Journalism and Mass Communication, Amity School of Communication, at Amity University Lucknow campus organized its first online annual national student conference which was titled “Mediation Communication: Beginning of New Era”, on March 25-26, 2021.

The idea was to provide a platform to  Graduate and Post Graduate students to showcase their academic research ability. This comes at a time when Amity University has adopted the Education 4.0 model in its teaching pedagogy. The conference was held under the aegis of ASCO’s Centre of Excellence “The Centre for Media Studies (CMS).

The two day event saw plenary sessions by Keynote Speakers, paper presentation by students and a healthy dialogue with Experts & presenters  In the two-day event of this virtual conference speaking to the students at the conference as keynote speakers were Dr. Pradip Nair, Dean, School of Journalism, Mass Communication and New Media, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala and Archana Mirajkar, Senior Media and Communications Officer of High Commission Canada, New Delhi.

As Chairperson for the Scientific Session were Dr Arbind Sinha ( Advisor and Adjunct Faculty, MICA, Ahmedabad), Prof Vikram Kaushik ( Department of Communication Management and Technology, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar ) and Prof (Dr) Rohit Kushwaha ( Director, Amity Business School & Amity Institute of Liberal Arts, Amity University Lucknow Campus ).

The papers presented covered a wide range of topics like advertising, public relations, media and corporate communication, culture and literature in the post COVID-19 era and the impact of the global pandemic on higher education, etc.

The best research papers were honored and selected research papers will be published after the conference. Registration in the conference was free and all authors were provided with an e-certificate of participation.

Led by Director of Amity School of Communication, Prof ( Dr ) Sanjay Mohan Johri, the institution aims to encourage media research by providing a platform to young students through this conference so that they can present their papers to eminent media professionals and academics. At a broader level the endeavour is to ensure participation on a global scale and remove geographical barriers.
