Any harassment of electricity consumers will be dealt with firmly – AK Sharma
Lucknow: State Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma has given instructions that if the officers and employees of the Electricity Department do not stop harassing the consumers with their poor work culture, strict action will be taken against them. He said that information about their poor working style keeps coming through various mediums, which will not be tolerated now.
State’s Energy Department will take strict action against such personnel, who are tarnishing the image of the department. He said that it is the moral responsibility of the electrical workers to give timely and correct bills to the consumers. They cannot run away from this task. It is not in the interest of the department to harass and harass the consumers unnecessarily. He said that the works of electrical workers who do not recover from big defaulters will also be monitored in the interest of the department.
Energy Minister A.K. Sharma took cognizance of the report sent to the Energy Minister regarding the action taken by Chief Engineer (Distribution) Sanjay Verma against the personnel in connection with the issue of RCs to some prepaid consumers of Prayagraj published in the newspaper. . He directed strict action against the officers and employees responsible in this matter. He said that the consumers are facing problems due to the negligence and irresponsible actions of the personnel. This is a very serious matter and it has to be rectified at any cost.
Similarly, the Energy Minister has reprimanded the higher officials for the fact that small consumers who can hardly light a bulb, are being given fake bills of up to Rs. 01 lakh and FIRs are also being registered against them. Which is totally wrong. He has directed the higher officials to fix this whole messed up system of billing.
