Art Thespian Hari Mohan Madhav gives kids a lesson on future possibilites as a cartoonist
Lucknow: Through cartoons and caricatures we can express our views very easily on serious subjects with great decency. It is a powerful medium of expression. It also makes people alert while captivating and tickling the mind. This is a great power of cartoons and caricatures, there is a need to further encourage this art and make people aware about it.
A cartoon and caricature based workshop and live demonstration titled “Language of Lines” was organized by the Florescence Art Gallery in the premises of Lucknow Public School and Colleges. Senior cartoonist Harimohan Vajpai Madhav attended the special event as expert.
Also in this program about 150 students and art teachers of 8th and 9th class LPS Anand Nagar, A Block Rajajipuram, Amrapali, B Block Rajajipuram, Anand Nagar, Vrindavan Yojna and Gomtinagar in collaboration with Florescence Art Gallery, Lucknow were ppresent. They actively participated in cartoon and caricature workshops.
Curator Bhupendra Kumar Asthana said that cartoonist Harimohan Madhav gave information about the large panel of cartoons and caricatures. Also infused an energy within the children towards cartooning and caricature drawing. He made the students aware of the rapidly growing career options in caricature and cartooning.
He said, “Language of lines is the language of the universe. Every child has an artist, there should be no age barrier for this. Art vision is born with the artist’s innate quality. The language of lines is the language of all things in life. Perspective brings totality in observation. It gives a different and nuanced perspective to all the everyday things around us.
Madhav also explained the difference between cartoon and caricature. During the workshop the students were given their own cartoons and The freedom to make caricatures which led to many wonderful and inspiring drawings by the students.
On this occasion Neha Singh, Director, Florescence Art Gallery interacted with the students and encouraged them to never give up their talent and passion towards art in life, as it always proves beneficial to follow the path of one’s interest. it happens. “You never know how, when and where your passion and talent for art can prove useful in your life in the long run, so keep it up, never stop”.

He is a well known cartoonist, poet, lyricist Harimohan Vajpayee “Madhav” is a well-known name and personality, well versed in many genres. Madhav has been making cartoons on burning issues for over 30 years. Rajesh Mehta, Shatakshi Singh, Roshni Tekchandani, Shubham Yadav, Debjani, Shubhi Agarwal, Pushpa Deshwal, Usha Verma, Lavkush were present on this occasion.
