As footfall increases on last few days of Lucknow Book Fair, many make beeline for Dalit literature

Lucknow: The Lucknow Book Fair, which was going on in the Bal Sangrahalaya premises of Charbagh, was full of fun on the eighth day. People are also buying a lot of new and old books of Dalit literature, along with poetry, poetry and comic-satire books which are entertaining people in the fair. This fair, which gives at least 10 percent discount on every book till 9 pm, will end on Sunday, April 3.

Omprakash Valmiki, Kanwal Bharti, Tulsi Ram and Mohan Das Naimishrai are well-known names of Dalit literature in Hindi. Book lovers coming to the book fair keep looking for their works, people are also liking and buying literature related to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. In the last days, a large crowd of book lovers is seen in the fair.

The National Book Trust has major books on education for social change by Basant Ambedkar, Sucheta Mahajan. So at the stall of Vani Prakashan there are a hundred Dalit autobiographies of Mohandas, Om Prakash Valmiki’s Dalit Sahitya Vedna Uprising, Jayaprakash Kardam’s individual thinker initiator new books.

Similarly, in the series of satirical books, the books of Harishankar Parisai and Sharad Joshi remain the first choice. Readers are buying buying stuff like the story of Rani Hawthorne as well as Vinod Somwal’s Baat ka Batangad and Shashwat’s Jharta Neem. Acharya Kishore Kunal’s Dalit Devo Bhava books are published from the Publications Division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Similarly, at the stalls of Lakshmi Narayan and Rajkamal Prakashan, Sukhdev Thorat’s works in Dalit and satire in India are prominent. The organizer of the fair, Manoj Chandel told that the response started in the last days of the fair. The scorching heat and board exams affected. So far, about 20 lakh worth books have been sold in six days. With three days left, the footfall has grown rapidly.

In the events, Dr. Saurabh Bhalla’s dental safety camp, people were made aware by giving information about the hygiene of teeth and mouth. People coming to the camp were tested and counselled. In the afternoon Vishwam Mahotsav, the children of Avanindra Academy Gomtinagar displayed their dancing and singing talent. Also expressed views from the point of view of women empowerment and improvement on the environment. The children of Primary School Ghuswal Kala recited poetry and the audience applauded with loud applause. In the discussion held on Adarsh ​​Prakash Singh’s book, the right language, simple editing, it came to the fore that this book is useful for everyone related to writing, along with those related to mass communication and journalism.

His sentiments reached the audience in the compositions of Om Sharma Om, Priyanshu Vatsalya, Lakhanchi Shekhar, Ravindra Ajnabee, Mrityunjay Bajpayee, Saurabh Jaiswal, Poonam Mishra and Ritika Thapliyal etc., organized in conjunction with Pets House and The Great Poetry. In the combination of Om Nirav, the echo of poetic compositions in the program of Kavita Lok continued till the conclusion of the fair here.
