Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched the Atal Bhoojal Yojana to save water drop by drop. The CM recently said that there is dire need to save water of ponds etc. and include rainwater harvesting in the stress areas. Yogi said ground water is like those savings, which not only keep our confidence, but also work in tougher times. The Chief Minister was inaugurating 278 check dams and ponds prepared in various districts of the state. The Atal Bhoojal Yojana has been currently implemented in 10 districts and will be implemented in the remaining 65 districts later. The Chief Minister also formally launched the web portal developed by the Ground Water Department on the basis of Uttar Pradesh Ground Water Management and Regulation Act 2019. CM said that this portal is an integrated online platform for well registration in each block.
The CM also interacted with entrepreneurs who have benefited from it in different districts.
CM Yogi said that in 2017, about 200 development blocks of the state were declared dark zones. It was found out that the survey was done in 1994, it was decided on that basis.
As a result of the work done in mission form, the situation is improving day by day. The number of critical and semi-critical areas is decreasing.
Yogi said – If we are able to provide pure drinking water in areas like Vindhya and Bundelkhand today, then these natural gifts are the main factors. Several officials of Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Department were present in the program.
