Avadh Girls Degree College Foundation Day celebrate with much gusto

Lucknow: The foundation day function was organized in Avadh Girls Degree College. On this occasion, the chairman of the management committee of the college, Ms. Zarine Viccaji was present as the chief guest. Along with the chief guest, Vice-Chairman of the Management Committee of the college, Meera Sethi, Manager Prof. Nishi Pandey and Principal Dr. Upma Chaturvedi started the program by lighting the lamp. Among other dignitaries present in the program were members of Management Committee and Avadh Educational Society and many other former teachers.

On this occasion, the principal of the college, Dr. Upma Chaturvedi, presented the welcome address. After this, students Shreya Mishra, Medha Pandey, Preeti Pandey, Mehak Jeevan etc. performed beautiful group dance on the tune of Ganesh Vandana “Jaidev Jaidev Jai Mangalmurthy”.

Thereafter the college students staged “A Marriage Proposal”, an English translation of the play by Russian writer Anton Chekhov. Huda Baig, Nitika Tripathi and Ruchika Gwari played important roles in this one-act based on situational humor. Dr. Preeti Awasthi, Advisor of Drama Club of the college and co-consultants Ms. Devanshi Bhatnagar and Dr. Almi Raza gave special support in the staging of this play directed by Dr. Rishad Rizvi.

After this, students namely Wafa Mirza presented Nida Fazli’s ghazal “Hosh Walon Ko Khabar Kya” under the direction of Dr. Surpreet Sahai, Advisor of Music Club of the college and Dr. Himani Maheshwari, co-consultant, in which Ankit Rai accompanied her on keyboard. After this, students like Chansi Pahuja, Neha Prajapati, Ayushi Sharma, Rashi Juneja, Diksha Yadav, Kashish Behl, Yashika, Sapnakumari, Kumkum Yadav, Sonam Singh etc. enthralled everyone by presenting group dance on Punjabi folk song.

The chief guest,  Zarine Viccaji, while addressing the girl students, inspired them to move forward continuously and become self-reliant by getting higher education. She said that one should not give up fearing difficulties, but keep moving forward with constant struggle, the destination is definitely achieved. Prizes were also distributed to class IV employees in the programme. A large number of parents and students were present in the program. The program ended with the national anthem after the presentation of vote of thanks by Dr. Seema Singh Katiyar, Dean of Students of the college. College students Anagha Mishra and Kulsoom Siddiqui conducted the program.
