Ayodhya Cantt GRP cops nab thief red handed while in possession of valuables

Lucknow: Police station GRP Ayodhya Cantt arrested the accused, Manish Maurya, who stole mobile, purse and cash of women passengers in the sleeper coach of the train, 01 stolen mobile, 01 pair of anklets and cash recovered from his possession.

Under the instructions of  Superintendent of Police, Railways, Lucknow, under the campaign being run for the prevention of incidents of theft/poisoning in trains and railway stations on the upcoming festivals of Diwali and Chhath Puja and arrest of reward/desired warranty accused, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Railways, Sanjeev Kumar Sinha. Under the efficient supervision of  Inspector-in-charge GRP Ayodhya Cantt Rakesh Kumar Rai, the team constituted by GRP Ayodhya Cantt, registered MO No. 14/2023 at the police station GRP Ayodhya Cantt,

Section- 379/411 in IPC, stolen mobile of POCO company and 2. MO No. 38/ 2023 Section- 379/411 related to IPC, theft of a pair of white metal anklets and Rs 2250 in cash was recovered.  Manish Maurya, son of late Ramshankar Maurya, resident of village Sarai Chamal, police station Purakalandar, district Ayodhya. Age around 33 years, arrested on the basis of recovery and sent to jail.

The above was arrested near pillar no. 967/12, the eastern end of platform no. 1 of railway station Ayodhya Cantt.

1. A valuable mobile phone of POCO company was stolen-
2. A pair of stolen white metal anklets and cash – Rs 2250 (total value approx Rs 11000/-)

Brief description of the incident:-
Manish Maurya, son of Late Ramshankar Maurya, from the possession of the above, IU No. 14/2023 Section- 379/411 IPC, a mobile phone stolen from POCO Company and 2. IU No. 38/2023, Section- 379/411 IPC, a pair of white metal anklets stolen. Cash of Rs 2250 was sent to police station GRP Ayodhya Cantt. On the basis of recovery, he was arrested and sent to jail.

Modus Operandi-

He is a vicious criminal who steals money, mobile phones, purses, bags and belongings of passengers traveling in trains and on platforms.

Inquiry details:-

During interrogation, accused Manish Maurya, son of late Ramshankar Maurya, said that 1. Mobile, I had stolen a lady’s purse from the sleeper coach of Kolkata Jammu Tawi X0 train at the railway station in the month of March, which contained this mobile, some money etc. and 2. A pair of anklets of white metal and cash – 2250. It was told that in the month of August, a lady’s purse was stolen from the sleeper coach of Sabarmati Which was caught and recovered by the police.
