Ayodhya developing as religious tourist city

Ayodhya: Under the scheme of making Ayodhya a religious tourist city, development of sixty three legendary ponds of religious importance has been planned to develop them as tourist centres. In its first phase 12 ponds are being developed.

In which, the restoration work of 10 mythological ponds will be completed till the end of March2024. DPR is being prepared for the renovation and embellishments of ten more ponds. DM Nitish Kumar said that the ground survey of these ponds of religious importance has been done.

The beautification and rejuvenation of Hanuman kund, Swarn khani kund, Ganesh kund and Surya Kund is in progress. Assistant engineer (UPPCL) has been directed for repairing Street lights, Water ATM, planting grass and for better finishing work of the whole park of Hanuman kund.

He said that restoration of various kunds along with Surya kund and historical Surya mandir is fast moving. Use of high standard stones and organic purification system to clean pond water is ensured . Besides urban areas embellishments of 11 kunds of rural areas will be done with the help of manarega.

Bharat kund with its great mythological importance will also be developed and decorated. Historical and religious buildings of Ayodhya will be restored and protected and grand entrance gates will be built on the all entry ways of Ayodhya.
