Ayodhya to be turned into a climate smart city with a look at future

Lucknow: Ayodhya will now also be developed as a climate smart city with renewable energy in Ayodhya, the city of Lord Ram. The Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Department is all set to start work on a Vedic themed greenfield township in a few weeks.

A presentation on immediate, short-term and long-term action plans was made before Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and a group of ministers. According to a government spokesperson, a 1200-acre wide greenfield township based on the Vedic theme has been proposed to meet the demand of people who want to live in a self-sufficient township.

A detailed project report in this regard has been prepared. The state government expects a huge increase in the number of tourists after the construction of the Ram temple is completed. The Chief Minister asked the officials to expedite the development of the holy city so that it can be prepared even before the Ram temple is built.

Urban Development Minister A.K. Sharma asked the officials to ensure that the township in Ayodhya is based on renewable energy so that it can be converted into a climate smart city.

In addition, the Urban Development Department is planning to revive the Kukrail Reserve Forest in Lucknow and make it more attractive to tourists. The Chief Minister, during the presentation, asked the officials to ensure housing for all, including the homeless, nomadic, extremely poor families and marginalized sections, as it is one of the key points in the BJP manifesto.
