A cricket match is not just made up of shots, deliveries and catches, sometimes what goes on in and around the stadium can make quite a point of discussion. A unique line was seen printed in a placard that was flashed during the one-day match between Australia and India which started on Friday. During the match, two spectators reached the beach ground with a placard which read “State Bank of India No $1BN Adani Loan.
What the line meant was the State Bank of India should not give loans to Adani. During the match at the Sydney Cricket Ground, this incident happened when the Australian team was batting at the 6 overs.
Sensing trouble, the security guards drove out both protesters who reached the ground. #StopAdani was written on the opposing person’s t-shirt while on the back side, Stop Coal #StopAdani Take Action was written. Actually, protests against Adani have been going on in Australia for a long time.
In September this year, Adani’s coal mine has won a court battle against environmental activists. The group says that it had talked about employing 1500 people in the province of Queensland. Protests against Adani were also seen outside the grounds.
