Big B handpicked to host Discovery show The Journey of India
Mumbai: The cast of the new series ‘The Journey of India’ was revealed to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan serving as the host and narrator of the show, each episode will also have a leading voice to showcase a key theme in India’s development as a nation. Bollywood actress Kajol will take the audience on the path of the captivating legacy of Bollywood against the backdrop of a real action film.
Telugu star Rana Daggubati will introduce audiences to India’s successful initiatives in sustainability and conservation in collaboration with Indian author and wildlife conservationist, Latika Nath. Sharing his thoughts on the same, Daggubati said in a statement, “The Journey of India showcases the rich fruits of India’s collective hard work and determination that has been created for this nation.” Embracing sustainability and being aware as a nation is commendable. At this critical stage of the climate change crisis, it is an honor for me to be a part of a show that brings to light these mesmerizing achievements.
Renowned Indian author Amish Tripathi, known for his Hishivahan trilogy, will pay tribute to the diversity of India’s religions. Michelin Star Chef Vikas Khanna will explore the delicacy of Indian cuisine, paralleling its roots to its impact on global cuisine. In the show, RRR’s director S. S. Rajamouli, veteran actress Hema Malini, Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman, veteran industrialist Anand Mahindra, celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor, women banking trailblazer Naina Lal Kidwai, climate change activist Vani Murthy will also be included.
