Book titled Map Practice Book in Department of Geography, LU unveiled
Lucknow: A meeting of alumni of Geography Department was held in the seminar hall of Geography Department, in which students who have contributed in various social fields participated.
Dr. Durgesh Srivastava, Chairman of the Geography Department, said in his address that whatever work we do, we must think that we can do justice to it. We must focus on what we can give to our department and university now.
On this occasion Prof.P.K. Singh National PG College, Lucknow expressed his views regarding the initial days of Geography Department and appreciated the efforts of former Dean Professor Surendra Singh. Pawan Kumar Yadav, Social Welfare Officer, Lucknow spoke about his research life.
Review Officer, Uttar Pradesh Secretariat, Dr. Ashok Dwivedi discussed his work on vultures and the work done on Ghaghra flood management. Statistics Officer, Agriculture Department, Kirti Verma refreshed his memories during his studies.
In the meeting, the book “Map Practice Workbook” written by Akanksha Pathak, a student of MA in 2007 batch, was released. Program coordinator Dr. Arun Kumar Dwivedi said that the alumni association of the Geography department will prepare a detailed action plan for its social responsibilities and for the students currently studying in the department.
On this occasion, Dr. Arun Kumar Maurya, CSN PG College Hardoi, Dr. Kashif Imdad, PPN College Kanpur, Dr. Anup Singh, Dr. LK Mishra and many alumni were present.
