Lucknow: Hectic parleys continue over the rational determination of marks in the results of the UP Board. Talks were held with Uttar Pradesh Principal Council, State Teachers Association, Secondary Teachers Association and Vocational Teachers Association where efforts were made to find a way forward to streamline the promotion process.
For the past several days, meetings and discussions are going on in the Secondary Education Department regarding the determination of rational marks of the registered students of High School and Intermediate. Discussions were held under the chairmanship of Aradhana Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary, Secondary Education through video conferencing.
Shukla said that due to the extraordinary circumstances arising out of the corona epidemic and in view of the health of the students in the larger interest of the students and public, the Board Examinations of High School and Intermediate Board Examinations of the Board of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh Prayagraj for the year 2020-21 has been cancelled by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. This discussion was kept in relation to the determination of rational marks of the students.
Provincial President Dr. Virendra Kumar Tripathi, Ravi Shankar Tiwari and General Secretary Ram Lakhan Yadav, Dr. Sukhpal Singh Tomar participated on behalf of Uttar Pradesh Principal Council. It was suggested by them that the marks should be determined by taking the average of half-yearly examination, annual examination and pre-board examination. It was suggested by Amarnath Singh, Provincial President and Provincial General Minister Nand Kumar Mishra and Lal Mani Dwivedi on behalf of the Secondary Teachers Association that the result should be declared without grade in the high school examination. High school marks and pre board marks should be considered in Intermediate exam results. State Teachers Association’s Provincial President Chhaya Shukla suggested that in view of the adverse circumstances, marks should be awarded considering all the students generously. The General Secretary of the Vocational Teachers Association, Dhananjay Chaturvedi suggested that the result of the examination should be declared on the basis of the pre-board marks.
Director of Education, Vinay Kumar Pandey thanked all the participating dignitaries.
