Calls grow louder for a micro vision plan to boost tourism in Agra

Agra: Taking forward the central government’s plan to develop the revenue model of each tourist destination and overall plan to develop tourism, Agra Development Foundation (ADF) has sent a letter to the CM Yogi Adityanth and the Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, planning for the next 25 years for the tourism development of Agra. There has been a demand to make a micro vision plan.

Secretary KC Jain has suggested to consult all the stake holders. Along with world heritage monuments, other buildings have been mentioned in this letter. It is said that the number of these buildings is so large that the tourists coming here can easily be attracted to stay for more than a day.

Soft skills are mentioned in the vision plan. It is suggested to keep them in front of the tourists. For example, how are the works of zardozi, mosaic going on. How are rugs and carpets made? The ancient cultural mode of Agra should be presented. Open air theaters and  amphitheaters should be made for them.

To stop tourists for three days, Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary, Mathura Vrindavan, Chambal Safari, Bateshwar and Etawah Lion Safari will have to be connected. Multi level parking, effective traffic management should be made a part of this vision plan.

Hotel hubs should be built near the new Civil Enclave on the lines of Arrow City in Delhi. The requirement of category-wise rooms for tourists should be assessed. Should have made good and cheap arrangements for stay. People should be involved at the local level for providing good hospitality to the middle class tourists at low rates.

Mobile App Required

An effective mobile app should be made to connect tourists through technology, which can only tell the places, can also act as an audio guide in different languages for historical places. Other tourist attraction information about Agra should also be provided through this app.
