Lucknow: BJP is making every effort to return to power in Rajasthan. After Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah, CM Yogi Adityanath is now entering the battle of Rajasthan to give edge to BJP’s election campaign. CM Yogi will participate in the nomination of Baba Balaknath, who is known as ‘Yogi Adityanath’ of Rajasthan and will also address the public meeting. Yogi Adityanath (CM Yogi) is starting the election campaign of Rajasthan from Muslim dominated Mewat area, the political meaning of which is being extracted in various political circles.
Baba Balaknath vs Imran Khan
Baba Balaknath is an MP from Alwar, but BJP is making him contest the legislative elections from Tijara assembly seat. In such a situation, Tijara assembly seat is being counted among the high profile seats of the state. Congress has fielded Imran Khan against Balaknath. Imran was earlier trying his luck in the election field on a ticket from BSP, but when the party canceled his ticket, he joined Congress and entered the electoral battle. In such a situation, all eyes are on Tijara seat and CM Yogi is campaigning for BJP in Rajasthan from this area.
Bet on Hindutva through CM Yogi
In Rajasthan, BJP is openly playing on the pitch of Hindutva. Balaknath is responsible for sharpening the agenda of Hindutva in the state. In 2019, Baba Balaknath became MP by defeating Raja Jitendra Bhanwar Singh from Alwar Lok Sabha seat. The area of Alwar falls in Mewat of Rajasthan, which is considered Muslim dominated. In such a situation, the political meaning of fielding Baba Balaknath from Tijara seat and now sending CM Yogi for his nomination is clear.
While Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath is considered the poster boy of Hindutva, BJP is promoting Bala Balaknath as the face of Hindutva in Rajasthan. This is the reason why CM Yogi has made a strategy to set the agenda of Hindutva by campaigning in Mewat area of Rajasthan, which is considered to be Muslim dominated.
Earlier, Assam Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma had aggressively raised the issue of Hindutva in Rajasthan and also accused Congress of appeasement. In such a situation, now Yogi Adityanath (CM Yogi) will not only participate in the nomination of Baba Balak but will also address the public meeting.
Imran Khan’s strong hold in Mewat
The area of Mewat is considered Muslim dominated, where Muslim voters play a decisive role. Imran Khan is considered to have a strong hold in the Mewat area. This is the reason why BSP canceled the ticket of Imran Khan and Congress made him its candidate. In such a situation, there could be a close contest between Balaknath and Imran on Tijara seat. However, Congress has faced defeat on Tijara seat in the last two elections.
Congress sidelined its old veteran leader Durru Mian and did not even field him in the election this time. Sandeep, who won from Tijara seat on BSP ticket in 2018, had joined Congress, but the party did not give him the ticket and fielded Imran. In this way, Congress has played the Muslim bet while BJP has expressed confidence in Baba Balaknath.
