Cane farmers should contribute in survey by being present on their field: Sanjay R Bhoosreddy
Cane Survey work will start from April 15, 2023
For estimation of cane area for crushing season 2023-24
In view of accuracy and transparency in the survey, its information should be given to the farmers by the concerned mill, before the survey team reaches the village, Cane survey will be done according to the Gata number, so that the farmers should register their cane according to the Gata by being present on their fields, if the cane is not registered in the Gata, then Ganna Purchi will not be issued and sugarcane will not be supplied.
The cane survey will be conducted by a joint team, of the Government cane supervisor, sugar mill employee and the presence of sugarcane farmer will be mandatory.
Cane survey slip will be provided to the sugarcane farmers present on the field. During the survey, instructions were issued to the concerned sugar mills to make arrangements for water bottles, caps, towel etc. to protect the survey workers from the scorching heat.
Lucknow: The Commissioner, Cane and sugar Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy has informed that the Cane survey for crushing season 2023-24 will start from April 15, 2023. He informed that accurate survey of sown sugarcane area is a very important and fundamental task for the correct assessment of cane production and it needs to be done with complete accuracy, promptness and sincerity along with participation of Cane farmers.
He told that Instructions have been given to the sugar mills to send the information about the survey team, date of the survey, name of the surveyor, etc. to the farmers by sending SMS on their mobiles, so that the farmers can present at their fields at the time of survey, which is going to start from April 15, 2023. Bhoosreddy has appealed to the farmers that during this year, the cane survey will be done according to the Gata number, so that the farmers should present on their fields get the cane survey done according to their Gata number.
If cane is not registered in Gata, then Ganna Purchi cannot be issued and sugarcane will not be supplied. He said that in the afternoon there is severe heat in the fields, the survey team should ensure the survey work is started early in the morning, so that the heat in the afternoon can be avoided. He has also instructed all the sugar mills to make availability of water bottles, caps, towels etc. for the survey personnel from their own resources.
He has also instructed cane supervisors, those are playing an important role as a link between the Department and cane farmers, that as in-charge of the survey team, they should ensure the work of the cane survey as per the provisions of the Survey Policy. It should be completed with full accuracy, promptness, transparency and participation of sugarcane farmers.
It is also worth mentioning that this year cane farmers have been provided the facility for upload their declaration form online, on departmental website enquiry.caneup.in regarding their sown area. 100% verification of the information mentioned in the declaration form will be made at the time of survey. Those farmers who will not provide online declaration, their Satta can be stopped by the Department anytime, during the crushing season 2023-24.
During the survey work, it will be mandatory to follow the guidelines issued regarding social distancing and sanitization etc. in view of Covid-19 in training and other programmes.
