Cantonment Board election dates are out, last minute preparations underway

Lucknow: The preparations for the Cantonment Board elections have intensified. The campaign has been intensified regarding that. The code of conduct has been implemented. Enrollment will start now. Candidates will file nominations on March 29. After this, on March 31, the Returning Officer will scrutinize the nomination papers from 11 am. There are about 45 thousand voters in the cantonment and more than one lakh population lives. Here the development work is done by the Cantonment Board.

Experts say that on April 30, elections will be held in all the eight wards. In this, voting will be held from 7 am to 5 pm. Polling booth has also been prepared for this. The entire election will be under the surveillance of CCTV cameras.

Opportunity to add name in voter list

There is also a chance to get the name added to the voter list. Those left out can add their names to the list till March 14. After this, objections related to voter list will be filed till March 18. After that the final voter list will be published on March 28. After that, on March 29, from 11 am to 4 pm, candidates will be able to file nominations. Scrutiny of nomination papers of the candidates will start from 11 am on March 31.

Election symbol will be available on 6th April

Election symbols will be given to the candidates participating in the election from 11 am. Experts say that in the election symbol, aeroplane, cupboard, axe, balloon, gas cylinder, banana, bat, wool, whistle, violin, lock key, drum, sewing machine, TV, tent will be found as symbols.

Reservation has also been declared regarding the elections. In this ward number one has been reserved for SC-ST. Apart from this, ward number 2, 3 and 7 will have women’s reservation. The remaining wards 4, 5, 6 and 8 will remain unreserved. General and any candidate can contest from here.
