Lucknow: The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education and Skill Development, Uttar Pradesh, Kapil Dev Aggarwal, held a virtual meeting with the Singapore Institute of Technical Education at the UP Skill Development Mission office in Lucknow and discussed the training programs with mutual cooperation.

The CEO of the institute,  Lim Boon Tiang, discussed the development of skill development centers in Uttar Pradesh on the lines of Singapore and assured all possible support for the same.

A surprise inspection of the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission office was conducted by the Minister of State (Independent Charge). During the inspection, the presence of personnel and cleanliness in the office were checked by him. Inquired about the work done by the employees by visiting various cells and reviewed the progress of the work. This was followed by a discussion on the current scenario of the mission with the top officials and in-depth discussions on the upcoming strategy.

The Minister directed that the training providers who are not making serious efforts in fulfilling the objective of the mission should be removed from the panel of the Mission after performance appraisal. A new policy should be formulated to connect with various startups starting in the state.

Expressing happiness over the online process of training last year, instructions were given to make various records online as well. According to the new emerging industry, various courses such as music, organic farming and photography courses were also directed to be included for training. Skill training sessions should also be conducted in schools so that students can get practical information about various skills at the school level itself.

He said that efforts should be made to enlist maximum industrial locations with the mission under flexi training provider mode. The Minister also expressed his desire to hold a review meeting in this regard with the Chief Development Officers in the coming time. The Minister instructed to run a drive for the promotion of the mission with the aim of showing maximum branding of the mission.

Emphasis was also placed on making new and special efforts to provide employment to the trainees after the training.

For this, employment opportunities are being made available to them by providing them proper training. He said that training programs are being run by the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission to make the future of the unemployed youth as well as the workers bright. This training is being imparted by technically proficient experts like ITI’s trainers from various trades. Unemployed youth are either doing good jobs in big companies after getting training or they are giving employment to people in villages by starting self-employment.
