CBSE East Zone Tennis Championship 2022-23 Culminates at GD Goenka School Lucknow
Lucknow: On Sunday, 04 December, 2022 curtains were drawn at the ‘CBSE East Zone Tennis Tournament 2022-23’ hosted by GD Goenka Public School Lucknow. The Guest of Honour for the closing ceremony was Ms B. Singh, Secretary CBSE Sahodaya Schools’ Complex Lucknow. The event was also graced by Mr Anurag Khatana, the CBSE observer of CBSE Clusters and Zonal sports as Special Guest. Mrs Richa Khanna, Principal of Vardaan International School, Lucknow, and Mrs Manju Lakhanpal, Principal of Delhi Public School, Shaheed Path also attended the ceremony as guests.
The Chairman of the School Mr Sarvesh Goel and the Principal Dr Prerna Mitra welcomed the dignitaries on behalf of the entire Goenkan family. A melodious song was presented by the students of GD Goenka to welcome all the guests.
100 players (boys and girls) drawn from 20 CBSE schools of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, participated in this event in U-14, U-17 & U-19 categories. It was a sheer display of agility, enthusiasm and speed. The participants had a wonderful experience of bon homie, friendship, learning & sharing. The spirit of athleticism, camaraderie, healthy competition and sportsmanship pervaded the atmosphere for three days.The winners were felicitated by the Guest of Honour Mrs B. Singh and Special Guset Dr Anurag Khatana. This was followed by an address by the chairman Mr Sarvesh Goel. who congratulated the students for their spirit of sportsmanship that will help them to become good leaders of the future.
The first position winners in the Under-19 Team event (Boys) are as follows:
- First – D.A.V. Public School Patna
- Second – G D Goenka Public School Lucknow
- Third – Sir Padampat Singhania Education Center Kanpur
The first position winners in the Under-17 Team event (Boys) are as follows:• First – Lucknow Public School Kalindi Park, Lucknow• Second – Almamater Public School Bareilly• Third – Delhi Public School Kalyanpur Kanpur Till the end of today’s game, the final matches of Under-17 and Under-19 girls’ category were being played.
One of the most spectacular and awaited events of the year, the gathering dispersed after the closing ceremony culminated with the singing of the National Song.
