Indore: The girl child has in recent years been celebrated a little more because of the growing debate on Saving the Girl Child. Taking that idea of celebrating girls forward was an event Meri Lado organized by content platform troopel.com. The event was organized specially for single girl parents. Joining from across different parts of the country, the families expressed their happiness at being parents to a single girl and also enjoying being a single daughter as a kid.
The event aired live on the channel’s Facebook page. The event featured KG Sharma, Dr. Alka Sharma and daughter Souranika Sharma from Sharma Family of Indore, Krishnapal Singh Thakur, Seema Thakur and daughter Anjani Thakur from Thakur family of Dewas, Sandeep Bhattacharya, Savita Bhattacharya and daughter Shrutika Bhattacharya participated.
The day saw common questions being posed in the first phase of this competition which took place in four rounds. The second and third rounds were rapid fire rounds, in which children and parents had to answer questions quickly. Everyone had a lot of fun in the last and fourth Toung Twister rounds as well and in the end the Sharma family managed to win the game.
On this occasion, the channel’s co-founder Atul Malikram thanked everyone and requested other parents to come forward.
Krishnapal Singh Thakur said that if he had thought of another child, then he would not have been able to provide the kind of care Anjani needed. Anjani is a specially able child singer who has won many national awards on the basis of her beautiful voice.
Sandeep Bhattacharya said that boys often get away from their parents, but daughters always keep a relationship. He said that girls are more emotional and more intelligent than boys. Apart from this, the Sharma family said on the question of the only girl that due to financial condition we did not want to have a second child and we thought that we could do everything for the same child whether it was a boy or a girl.
At the end of the program, the sweet voice of Anjani Thakur cast a spell on the audience. The main objective of this program was to make people aware of the challenges faced by the parents of single girl girl and against the corrupt mindset that considers the birth of girls as a curse.
