Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association (UPOA) organized a Cheer for India campaign to wish and encourage the Indian players going to participate in the Tokyo Olympics. Many expressed confidence that the flag of India will be hoisted in Tokyo.
This time ten players are from UP. In this program organized at KD Singh Babu Stadium, the whole scene became sporty. During this, Chief Guest was Law Minister of UP Government Brajesh Pathak (President, Uttar Pradesh Volleyball Association) along with special guest Sanjay Prasad (Principal Secretary Hon’ble Chief Minister) and Senior IAS Sudhir M Bobde (President UP Handball Association).
Chief Guest Brajesh Pathak told players that if you ever need any facility for training, you can contact me and their demand will definitely be fulfilled. While congratulating the players, Chief Minister, Guest of Honour, Principal Secretary, Sanjay Prasad said that the State Government is committed for the development of sports and sportspersons.
UP Olympic Association President Viraj Sagar Das while addressing the players said that you hoist the flag of the country in the Olympics, the blessings of the whole country are with you. Sports Director Dr. RP Singh said that the players of UP playing in the Olympics would be given a prize money of Rs.10 lakh each for participating in the Olympics.
Dr. Anandeshwar Pandey (Treasurer Indian Olympic Association and General Secretary, UP Olympic Association) thanked the state government for encouraging the sportspersons. Everyone encouraged the Indian team by taking a photo at the selfie point.
