Cinematic February to Light up Celluloid
Mumbai: If you are a movie buff, then a lot is in store for you this February. With Pathaan raking in the moolah, the momentum of Bollywood releases has got a sudden boost. February promises to be a roller coaster ride on the cinematic front.
With big ticket films coming up, one hopes the big bucks continue to flow at the box office with audiences making a beeline for films. This month starts with Hansal Mehta’s dramatic thriller Faraaz which is based on the horrific Bangladesh terror attack at a cafe in 2016. The film features Paresh Rawal’s son Aditya and Shashi Kapoor’s grandson Zahan.
The next on that list is Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat which promises to be another Anurag Kashyap blockbuster. The film stars noted acts like Alaya F, with Vicky Kaushal playing DJ Mohabbat. These films will see a restricted release and word-of-mouth publicity.
Featuring Industry veteran, Anupam Kher, Shiv Shastri Balboa is directed by Ajayan Venugopalanwhich also stars Neena Gupta and Nargis Fakhri. The storyline is about an Indian surviving in America. The poster tries to model the protagonist on the role Sylvester Stallone played in Rocky.
After Kartik Aaryan’s much talked about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, this year another film plans to make big noise with Shehzada. The film directed by Rohit Dhawan is replete with romance, action, drama, comedy and many twists.The film also features the powerhouse Kriti Sanon.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which hits screens on Valentine’s Day weekend features Marvel’s Ant Man. It features Paul Rudd and Jonathan Majors taking centrestage.
Selfiee will be Akshay Kumar’s first theatrical release of 2023. The star plays a superstar who collides with Emraan Hashmi, an RTO inspector. A story about a die-hard fan getting disillusioned by his hero, and then becomes his biggest enemy. It is a Karan Johar production.
February is also going to see a Anubhav Sinha production,Afwaah. His Faraaz will be followed by Afwaah, directed by Sudhir Mishra. The film features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar.
