City cleanliness crusaders to be rewarded with Navdevi Samman during Navratri
Lucknow: (Hindustan Times). The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to honor women doing excellent work in cleanliness with ‘Navdevi Samman’ on the occasion of Navratri. This honor will be given to women by the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban).
State Mission Director, Neha Sharma said that on the occasion of Navratri, it has been decided to honor women with ‘Navdevi Samman’ to increase participation of women in cleanliness and strengthen their leadership in all urban bodies. This honor will be given at the district, divisional and state level. In this regard, the State Mission Director has also issued instructions to all the urban bodies.
Neha Sharma said that under the Swachh Bharat Mission, “Swachhotsav 2023” campaign will be launched in all the urban bodies of the state till March 30, so that the participation of women in cleanliness can increase. To encourage and motivate women, on the basis of the nine forms of Maa Durga, women who have done excellent work in the field of cleanliness at the civic level will be honored in nine categories.
The director said that to ensure permanent cleanliness in the urban areas of the state, three women from each category, who have made excellent contribution in cleanliness work, will be honored with Navadevi Samman at the district level by March 20. At the second level, out of these selected women, 2-2 women from each category will be honored at the divisional level by March 25. It has been decided to honor 1-1 women of each category for their excellent performance in cleanliness work till March 30 at the state level.
She said according to the role of women on Navratri festival, their works will be divided into 09 categories and honored. In this, the first day (Maa Shailputri) – Self Help Group (SHG) – women who have done remarkable work in the field of cleanliness and have inspired others. Day 2 (Maa Brahmacharini) – From Waste to Wealth, such an item is being made by a woman from useless items, which is earning herself and others are also being inspired or supported. Third day (Maa Chandraghanta) – Entrepreneur in Waste Management – Waste Management has been prepared as an industry, through which people get employment. Day 4 (Maa Kushmanda) – Cleaning friend as a cleaning friend who has done commendable work. Day 5 (Maa Skandamata) – Master Trainer – Those who have given maximum training to people in the field of cleanliness as master trainers will be felicitated.
According to the director, the sixth day of Navratri (Maa Katyayani) – Innovation (Innovation) on any innovation made by a woman in the field of cleanliness. Seventh day (Maa Kalratri) – in community composting – such a woman who has inspired people to make community compost. Eighth day (Maa Mahagauri) – In the transformation of ULB/space, such a woman whose efforts have brought a change in the status of the body, in which beautification of bodies, cleanliness, public participation in cleanliness works. Increase and take ownership of it. Ninth day (Maa Siddhidatri) – In community awareness, the woman is making the community aware about cleanliness (3R-Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, SUP). Women and their groups giving priority to such works will be honoured.
