City hotel to light up with works of heritage photographer Shailendra Kumar

Lucknow: A grand art festival is being organized by Roopkriti Open Art Space in memory of state’s young photographer Jalaj Yadav on his 33rd birth anniversary in Lucknow, the city of artists and writers. Special dignitaries from the state and other states will also be present in this function.

Giving the above information, the coordinator of the function Bhupendra Kumar Asthana said that the function is being organized on February 8, 2023 at 4 pm at Saraka Art Gallery, Hotel Lebua, located on Mall Avenue in the city. There will be photo exhibition, monograph launch and Jalaj Smriti Samman program in this function.

Patna Bihar’s senior cultural and heritage photographer  Shailendra Kumar is the invited artist in the program. An exhibition of whose photographs is also being organized. And  Shailendra will also be honored with Jalaj Smriti Samman. The curator of the exhibition is Dr. Vandana Sehgal. A monograph booklet on the photographs of Jalaj Yadav, a compilation of articles by 15 senior art writers and critics of the country, will also be inaugurated.

Ashok Kumar Sinha, Additional Director of Bihar Museum from Patna Bihar as the chief guest and  Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Uttar Pradesh and  Ramesh Chandra Yadav, Jalaj’s father as special guests.

The curator of the exhibition Dr. Vandana Sehgal told that Shailendra Kumar is a renowned photographer. He has called his creative endeavor ‘Art Photography’, Shailendra’s subject covers various often ritualistic and cultural and heritage aspects of India. Needless to say that the aesthetic side of the frame is given priority over all else.
