City pays homage to comedian Raju Srivastava in own unique way
Lucknow: Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia along with former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Dinesh Sharma inaugurated the E-Block intersection of Rajajipuram naming it as “Raju Srivastava Chowk”.
Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia said it is easy to make someone cry but making someone laugh and spreading smile on someone’s face is a very virtuous act.
She said Raju was a great artist in this regard. The mayor said that Lucknow was Raju Srivastava’s second home. His in-laws house is in Rajajipuram. Used to meet him here often on many forums.
His untimely departure is unbearable and no one can fill the void. The mayor further told that I had announced in the tribute meeting to name the E-block intersection near his in-laws’ residence at Rajajipuram in Lucknow as Raju Srivastava intersection, which was passed in the municipal executive, which was inaugurated here. Beautification of this intersection will also be done. Due to which Raju Srivastava will always be alive in the hearts of the people of Lucknow, his memory will always remain in the hearts of all of us.
Assuring Shikha Srivastava, wife of late Raju Srivastava and her family members, the Mayor said that I am always standing with you in times of happiness and sorrow, whatever may be the need, my doors are open for you for 24 hours.
Raju Srivastava’s family, his wife Shikha Srivastava, Ashish Srivastava and their children were present in the inauguration program.
Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia along with former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Dinesh Sharma, comedian Annu Awasthi, Mahant Divyagiri of Mankameshwar Temple, BJP leader Aparna Yadav, BJP leader Anjani Srivastava, BJP councilor Shivpal Savariyan, councilor Rekha Singh, councilor Annu Mishra, national poet Vedvrat Vajpayee including fans, family members, a large number of other people were present.
