CM Yogi Adityanath asks army aspirants to breathe easy

Lucknow: Protests against the Agneepath scheme took place in different parts of the state, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assuring that those working for the armed forces for four years would be given priority in the police and other departments under the scheme. Most of the Agniveers participating in this program will remain unemployed at the end of four years, as only 20 per cent of each batch will be kept in the forces.

He appealed that Agneepath scheme will give a new dimension to your life and at the same time will open a golden chapter in your life. Don’t be deceived by anyone. Agniveer’s service to Maa Bharati will be an invaluable asset to the nation. He said priority would be given to firefighters in the police and other services. On Wednesday night, the CM had announced that Agniveers would be given priority after completing four years of service in police recruitments and other departments in UP.

On a two-day visit to Jhansi, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also appealed to the youth to maintain peace. Linking the scheme with the employment generation program of the government, Maurya said that all of you should be in the role of a soldier and for this they will be provided special training in the armed forces for four years. On Wednesday, the CM announced that 40,000 more police personnel would be recruited. He said that our government is trying to increase employment opportunities and remove obstacles in the way of that work.
