CM Yogi calls One Nation One Election, the need of the hour

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed happiness over the formation of a committee on ‘One Nation, One Election’ by the Central Government. He described the process of ‘One Nation, One Election’ as an innovative initiative and the need of the hour. CM Yogi said that this decision will not only speed up the process of development, but will also bring prosperity in the life of every citizen while ensuring the prosperity and stability of democracy.

CM Yogi said in his statement that stability is very important in the country. Similarly, development in a democratic system requires stability of governments as well as a dynamic government.

From this point of view, ‘one nation, one election’ is a commendable effort. Happy to note that a committee has been constituted for ‘One Nation, One Election’ under the chairmanship of former President Ram Nath Kovind. I express my heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this innovative initiative on behalf of the people of Uttar Pradesh, the country’s most populous state. ‘One nation, one election’ is the need of the hour.

CM Yogi said that it is also important from the point of view of a state like Uttar Pradesh because due to frequent elections, development works get hampered. The election process takes at least a month and a half. This time hinders the rapid progress of the development process or policy decision making. It is necessary that Lok Sabha, Vidhansabha and all other types of elections are held simultaneously. This is a great initiative not only for development but also for the prosperity and stability of democracy, which will bring prosperity in the life of every citizen.
