CM Yogi donates cows for greater good of malnourished children

Malnourishment remains a major problem in the country and even the state of Uttar Pradesh is not untouched by the issue. In a bid to bring some healthy solution for those children suffering from malnourishment, the Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has gifted cows to the families of 11 malnourished children in Mirzapur.

The special gift from the saffron clad monk turned CM came on Gopashtami as part of the state government’s Sahbhagita Yojana.

Uder the much talked about scheme, the UP government gives Rs 900 per month to a person taking care of a cow. This in turn helps in malnourished children get nutrition. Till the time the story was filed as many as 66,257 cows were given under the scheme, of which 1,071 cows were distributed among 1,069 families of malnourished children so far.

The U.P. CM has made a strong appeal for people to connect wit the scheme for mutual benefits. Speaking at the Tadafall cow shelter in Mirzapur he also venerated the Gaumata.

The CM said, “There are more than five lakh cows in various cow shelters at present. More than 65,000 cows have already been given to farmers and the festival of Gopashtami has served as an inspiration to all of us with regard to our enhanced responsibility towards cows.”
