CM Yogi maintains campaign momentum in poll season
Gorakhpur: To make sure results are good, it is important that one works day and night with full devotion. Yogi Adityanath has been doing the same thing for years. Even when he was sure of victory. Representing the Gorakhpur parliamentary seat, he turned the tide in favor of the BJP by holding 74 public meetings in an urban body election.
He was also sure that then the mayor would be of BJP only. He is doing the same in the urban body elections as the Chief Minister. After taking over the reins of the state, election after election, he spends his time in campaigning with the same intensity. Then even the weather does not come in the way of his campaign.
Yogi had held about 28 meetings in the first phase
It may be known that Yogi had held 28 public meetings and conferences in the first phase of municipal elections. During this, he reached about two dozen districts out of 37 districts. He went to all the 10 cities where municipal elections were to be held.
Started campaigning for the second phase immediately after casting vote in the first phase
The first phase of polling took place on May 4 (Thursday). Immediately after voting in his home district Gorakhpur, he went on a whirlwind tour of Siddharthnagar, Basti, Sultanpur and Ayodhya for the second phase of campaigning. This was his second visit to Ayodhya.
The next day on Friday (May 5) he stormed Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Meerut and Ghaziabad in western Uttar Pradesh. As per the schedule on Saturday, he is on an election tour for the Karnataka Legislative Assembly as a star campaigner.
Outline of proposed tours till May 9
Further, the program of his tours for the urban body elections in Uttar Pradesh has already been proposed. In this sequence, his election meetings are proposed in Barabanki, Mirzapur and Ayodhya on Monday, May 8 and Kanpur, Banda and Chitrakoot on Tuesday, May 9.
It is believed that after the second phase of campaigning is over, when his visits are counted for this election, it will be a record in itself. In every election meeting, people are requested to form a triple engine government in order to speed up the development work done at the local level during the BJP rule. Like every election, the policy of zero tolerance on crime and corruption is mentioned in an effective manner for good governance and development.
Opposition is nowhere in competition in front of Yogi’s stormy campaign
As far as the main opposition parties are concerned, the top leadership of the Congress is nowhere in these elections. The BSP has put all the responsibility of coordination on the head of the divisional coordinators. The party chief is still hopeful that the Dalit vote is his. If Muslims are found then their party can blossom. In this hope, they have fielded 11 Muslim candidates in 17 municipal corporations.
As for Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, his campaign in Lucknow was limited to the Metro. He definitely went to Gorakhpur and Saharanpur, but as a ritual. Because he came out at the very end of the first phase of elections.
