CM Yogi opens his goodie bag for Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath (CM Yogi), who usually gives some gift to Gorakhpur on every visit, will once again gift development works worth Rs 628.59 crore on Saturday. He will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate 195 development projects of Jal Nigam and Public Works Department (PWD). The Chief Minister will also address a public meeting at Mahant Digvijay Nath Smriti Park, the venue of the foundation stone laying and inauguration ceremony, at around 3 pm.

Among the two major development projects worth Rs 61.38 crore that CM Yogi will inaugurate on Saturday, the most important is the work of widening and strengthening of the road from Gorakhnath temple to four-lane via Nakaha overbridge to Sports College. Its construction has cost Rs 41.20 crore. Apart from this, he will also inaugurate the widened and strengthened Mahavankhor-Netwar Bazar-Campierganj road at a cost of Rs 20.18 crore.

All the projects whose foundation stones were laid by the Chief Minister (CM Yogi) belong to Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural). Rs 567.21 crore will be spent on a total of 193 projects and provision of drinking water will be ensured at every house in the gram panchayats. With these new drinking water projects, people of 193 villages of Pipraich, Campierganj, Gorakhpur Rural, Chillupar, Sahjanwa, Chaurichaura, Khajni, Bansgaon areas will get pure drinking water from the tap.

On completion of these projects, a total of 70558 households will be benefited. Earlier on June 20, the Chief Minister (CM Yogi) had laid the foundation stone of drinking water projects for 623 villages at a cost of Rs 2245.28 crore. It is also noteworthy that after Yogi Adityanath became the Chief Minister in 2017, till now people of 216167 houses in the rural areas of the district have been benefitted by the benefits of drinking water scheme from tap.
