CM Yogi urges departments to speed up road infra projects in Uttar Pradesh

Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways General Retired (Dr.) VK Singh reviewed the progress of road construction projects of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in Uttar Pradesh in Gorakhpur.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the Gorakhpur-Varanasi four lane should be completed by March 2024. Besides, the quality of the road should also be checked. In view of the traffic jams and accidents at Sahjanwan, he asked to construct an overbridge on the 4-lane Gorakhpur-Lucknow road at Sahjanwan.

While giving instructions to complete the roads connecting Prayagraj district by the end of 2024, the Chief Minister said that Maha Kumbh is to be organized in Prayagraj district in the year 2025, hence the work should be done expeditiously. At present the capacity of the highway should be expanded. 04-lane highway should be made 06-lane highway. CCTV cameras should also be installed on the highway. Besides, good arrangements should be made for public facilities like toilets etc. for the convenience of the common people.

The action plan to build a ropeway from Shankar Mandapam temple to Triveni in Prayagraj district should be carried forward rapidly.
The Chief Minister said that the District Magistrate should get the land matters resolved on priority basis. NHAI officials should complete road construction projects in the state expeditiously. Reviewing the projects of NHAI in Ayodhya district and surrounding areas, the Chief Minister said that Lord Shri Ram Lalla will be installed in his grand temple in January 2024.

After this, the number of devotees coming from across the country and the world will increase manifold. In view of this, there is a need to further accelerate the projects of Ayodhya district.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed Gorakhpur-Varanasi, Sonauli-Gorakhpur and Gorakhpur North East Bypass. He gave instructions to expedite the ongoing NHAI projects in Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Mathura, Agra, Bareilly, Meerut. The Chief Minister gave instructions to immediately resolve some of the problems pointed out by NHAI.

NHAI Chairman Santosh Yadav gave detailed information to the Chief Minister regarding the ongoing projects in the state. District Magistrates of districts Mau, Maharajganj, Ghazipur, Ballia, Chandauli, Rae Bareli and Pratapgarh participated in this meeting through virtual medium.

On this occasion, senior officials of the government and administration including public representatives and Principal Secretary Public Works Ajay Chauhan were present.
