Colours Of Folk Culture Cast Spell at Son Chiraiya led Deshaj
Lucknow: The residents of the city got an opportunity to see the folk culture of Manipur from Gujarat to the state bordering Myanmar on a single platform. Folk artists had different costumes, different dialects but they all came to present the culture of their own country.
The two-day festival of folk culture ‘Deshaj’ started on behalf of the folk cultural organization ‘Son Chiraiya’. Chief guest Union Minister of State for Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal inaugurated the festival organized on the open stage of Lohia Park located in Gomti Nagar by lighting the lamp.
On this occasion, Secretary of the organization and famous folk singer Padmashree Malini Awasthi, Advisor to Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Avnish Awasthi, Kabir singers Padmashree Prahlad Tipania, Padmashree Manjamma Jogti were also present.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also participated in the celebration. Folk singer Padmashri Malini Awasthi said she gives this honor every year in the memory of her mother. Dressed in Awadhi attire, famous folk singer Malini Awasthi sang her favorite song Holi Khele Raghubira in Awadh.
