Lucknow: Indian Olympic Association Treasurer Dr. Anandeshwar Pandey and Handball Federation of India (HFI) President A. Jaganmohan Rao met Wrestling Federation of India President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh (MP) at his New Delhi residence.
On this occasion, Dr.Anandeshwar Pandey congratulated them for the excellent performance of Indian wrestlers in the Tokyo Olympics and said that under his guidance a better environment has been created for wrestling in India.
Due to this, wrestlers have been performing well for the last several years. Ravi Dahiya won silver medal and Bajrang Punia won bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics. At the same time, some of our wrestlers lost in close matches, otherwise some more medals would have been in India’s account.
On this occasion, the President of Wrestling Association of India Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh (MP) said that from now onwards, keeping in mind the Olympics to be held in Paris, we will work with the goal of preparing Indian wrestlers and in the coming times also Indian wrestlers will be waving the flag of the country.
Indian wrestler Ravi Dahiya won silver medal in men’s freestyle 57kg category in Tokyo Olympics while wrestler Bajrang Punia won bronze medal in men’s freestyle wrestling 65kg category.
