Congress is unworthy of being in ‘Devbhoomi’: Yogi

Kullu/Mandi/Una: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday, wrapped up his election campaign in the poll-bound Himachal Pradesh with rallies in Balh and Nachan assembly constituencies of Mandi district, Banjar of Kullu, and Gagret of Una district.

In just five days, Yogi Adityanath held as many as 16 rallies, seeking public support on grounds of development, good governance and faith. Continuing his attack on the Congress party, Yogi, on the fifth day of his marathon rallies, said that since Himachal Pradesh is “devboomi” (land of gods), the Congress has no place in the state.

Addressing the public rally, Yogi Adityanath said “After a wait of more than 500 years, a magnificent temple dedicated to Lord Ram is currently being built with construction progressing fast. This temple will be a ‘National Temple’ by the end of 2023, when ‘Ram Lalla’ will be enthroned there.”

In reference to the ‘Pancha Prana’ delivered by PM Modi, Yogi Adityanath said, “Developed India will bring happiness to every citizen.” He added: “India is now leading the world. India’s global stature is rising, and it has become a developed and secure nation. No global problem can be resolved without India’s involvement. India has become the world’s fifth largest economy surpassing Great Britain.”

The CM stated that for the sake of the nation’s security, the brave soldiers of Himachal have been sacrificing their lives on the borders. “The tricolour was hoisted at each home during the “Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” as a sign of respect for the Indian soldiers.”

He added: “You all would be happy to know that today our enemies cannot dare to look at us. The soldiers here are always ready to carry out an air or surgical strike on the enemies in their homes, if provoked.”

Yogi further said that the BJP government aims to ‘honour the heritage’, remember the national heroes, focus on unity, and ensure that the benefits of the welfare schemes reach every citizen without discrimination.

“Himachal is like a second home to Prime Minister Modi. Besides, since BJP’s National President Jagat Prakash Nadda is also from Himachal Pradesh,  your responsibility increases,” Yogi Adityanath told the gathering.

Yogi Adityanath credited the double engine government with bringing the benefits of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi to every farmer in the country for the first time. “The scheme of ‘Har GharNal’ is being implemented in Himachal. A health insurance benefit of Rs. 5 lakh is available to every poor person.”

Yogi further said, “During the Covid-19 pandemic, India provided free tests, treatment and vaccine in addition to free ration to 80 crore people. If there had been a government led by the Congress, none of this would have occurred.”

Even if the government had sent it from Delhi, the Congress would have gulped it all away. Rajiv Gandhi had himself said once that if you send Rs 100, only 10 reach the public, he added.

“Could you imagine a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, abrogation of Article 370 or the scheme of ‘Har Ghar Jal’ during a Congress government? Congress doesn’t respect your faith and can’t provide you with security, so why do you need to support them?,” the Chief Minister quipped.

“Due to the double engine government in HP, developmental activities are running like a bullet train,” Yogi said, adding that now HP has institutes like AIIMS and IIM. Medical colleges are being established in every district. The roads are getting better while air connectivity has also improved.

Taking a jibe at Congress, Yogi said, “Out of 403 seats in Uttar Pradesh, Congress has won only two seats. Even when a person dies, at least four people are needed to carry him to the cremation ground.”
